Artist's Comments

ok not the best picture, but it will have to do.

I made it to Middlefaire here in Texas this Saturday. Gave me a chance to "Test Drive" my works.

In this I've made the chemise, the bodice and ties, the green skirt, and the golden yellow skirt (peeking out on the right)..the bloomers (not seen, but will post a pic later) and the brown pouch.

All came through quite well...no split seams...no frayed edges...no lost grommets...no open closures.

I will be changing out the boning int he bodice later...it had the "plastic" boning that I got from Hancocks...I prefer the cable ties or steel...since I already have precut steel, I think I will put that in. I am quite pleased with the finished results..since this is my first complete garb that made it out into the public eye. I did get some compliments on it.

SOOOOOOOO...Thanks to all those kind words and words of wisdom and support.

I had a good time, even though it was very small. the Faire I mean. You looked fabulous! I blame the camera on the picture, but it really isn't that bad. :D

Wow! That looks fantastic! It also looks comfortable (something so many of my costumes lack...). The location is beautiful to boot :) Great work!

Yay, it looks good! What kind of fabric did you use for the bodice? It's kinda hard to tell in the pic. I'm so proud of you :D

I was at Joanne's with my Sister in Law and digging through their huge remnant bin, and came across it...the making of it i'm not sure..it is upholstery fabric, so probably some cotton and polyester blend. I fell in love with it...only had a yard...bought it with no clue on what I was going to do with it..and it ended up as my first bodice. I've got a better pic of the bodice posted under the heading of "Red Dotted Bodice" or something like that..LOL

Thank you for the compliment.
